The system of determining the minimum labor wage as one of the mandatory protections in labor law based on social and economic criteria with two models of national wage and variable wage is common in different legal systems. In this research, using the descriptive and analytical method, while explaining the basis for choosing each of the two mentioned models, the status of Iran's labor law system in determining the minimum wage for workers has been evaluated. According to the findings of this research, the national model for determining the minimum wage for workers in Iran's labor law system, in addition to contradicting the text of the law, due to the violation of the principle of equal pay under equal conditions, deviation from the description of flexibility, being far from the policies of the International Labor Organization and ignoring unbalanced economic development of different regions of the country requires redesigning and reforming and moving towards a diverse model. In the diverse model, considering the economic requirements of different regions of the country and the characteristics of each sector of services and industry, it is possible to use the regional minimum wage system and the sectoral minimum wage system at the same time.
